Three days later Onyx walked with Malachi into Sassy’s home. The sweet smell of soul food greeted his nostrils as he placed his son onto the ground. Spending time with Malachi had been just what Onyx needed. His son was smart, growing with each day that passes and Onyx wished he’d been able to be there from the start.

“There go my lil cutie,” Sassy gushed swooping Malachi up into her arms.

Onyx smiled as he watched his son who wore the same threads as him laugh while Sassy kissed his small cheeks. Malachi was immediately loved by Onyx and his people. One thing his son didn’t have to worry about was people having his back.

“You looking all handsome and stuff lil man,” Sassy cooed tickling Malachi which in turn made him laugh harder.

“Enough of that let me see him. It’s time for him to be on a bike,” Pope smirked walking up.

Onyx shook his head.

“Damn even Malachi can’t get too much of her time,” he joked.

Pope glared at Onyx before grabbing Malachi. Onyx went into the bathroom and washed his hands before going into the dining room. He found Sassy’s space filled with their people. Yadi and Uno had their women at the table with them along with Esko his woman Kori and Nyasia. Onyx found himself sitting beside Nyasia who was looking good in her ripped denim jeans that she paired a white cropped chiffon top with. Her auburn extensions were pulled into a sloppy bun as she smiled his way.

“Hey,” she said softly.

Onyx got comfortable in his seat and nodded.

“You good? How the house hunting going?”

Nyasia shrugged as she attempted to place her hand onto his thigh.

“Ny, chill you doing too much,” Yadi grumbled as Onyx pushed her hand away making Nyasia frown.

“I am? I can touch my babyfather whenever the hell I want to Yadi. Don’t forget who used to beat you and Uno’s ass back in the day,” Nyasia snapped.

Yadi and Uno chuckled as Onyx pulled out his ringing phone. He smiled when Shyne’s name slid across the screen.

“You got your stuff?” he asked with a grin as he took the call.

“I did and the roses are so pretty. Why my momma trying to steal them away from me and I don’t need any more jewelry or clothes. Why did you send me that dress Onyx?”

Onyx stood as he watched Nyasia tap into his call. He walked out of the dining room stepped by Sassy and Pope who was playing with Malachi in the living room and went onto the porch. As he peered out at the street, he spotted the same Camero drive by Sassy’s home. Immediately his guard went up at the sight of it.

“Because I’m taking you out tonight Sunshyne at 8. Be ready, I gotta go baby.”

Onyx ended the call and rushed back into Sassy’s home.

“Aye, Pope!”

Pope stopped boxing with Malachi to peer up at him. Sassy stopped recording the cute moment and looked his way as well.

“Come rap with me real quick.”

Onyx went back onto the porch with Pope beside him.
